Founded on September 15, 2009, the academy serves as a fitting tribute to the legacy of Dennis Pershing, a dedicated educator whose profound impact is deeply ingrained in the hearts of countless students.

 

From the inception of his career on July 13, 1982, until his untimely passing on December 18, 2006, Mr. Pershing passionately devoted himself to nurturing the young minds of Alcoa High School. Renowned for his warm and welcoming personality, he cultivated a supportive learning environment where students felt genuinely appreciated and encouraged to reach their full potential.

 

His signature greeting, "Hi Pal," became a cherished symbol of his connection with students and ultimately served as the inspiration for the name of the academy itself. PAL embodies Mr. Pershing's commitment to creating a personalized and inclusive learning experience for all students, fostering a sense of belonging and providing them with the tools and support necessary to succeed.
