Welcome to my staff profile!

The Alcoa school system has always been an important part of my life. Having a parent in the system allowed me to quite literally be born and raised a Tornado. I am a proud Alcoa graduate and Tornado for Life. Through middle school, high school, and college, I worked for the ACS Technology Department. After graduating from The University of Tennessee Knoxville, I was hired full time in the ACS Educator Support Center to work in finance. A few years later, I moved back to Technology and now manage our student information system and state reporting.

Reporting to the state by ensuring accurate numbers and data for our funding count is my primary responsibility. This duty ranges across many of our departments. So, often I am a go-to for assistance in helping other directors and leaders understand the specific data their department reports on and troubleshooting missing or incorrect information between our SIS and the state’s data. This includes, but is not limited to, ADM/ADA, Federal Programs (EL, Foster, Migrant, Homeless, JDC, Mental Health Facilities, etc.), SPED/TN Pulse, Testing Rosters, Discipline, and VPK. State Reporting changes often, so I like to help the other directors and leaders continue to learn how they are able to view and manipulate data applicable to their areas and understand what resources are available to them in our SIS and in EIS sso/data reports. I ensure our data is sent to the state through Ed-Fi and EIS and check for data integrity, troubleshooting as we continue to send changes throughout the year.

Since Skyward is our Student Information System that houses local data sent to the state and is used throughout the year in various ways by our teachers, families, students, and staff, I am responsible for setup and maintenance throughout the year of “all things Skyward Student.” We have many super Skyward Student users, so I am a resource for those people when they are troubleshooting areas they work. Managing Skyward Student throughout the year allows new challenges each day since there are so many different things going on throughout the year that are tied to Skyward. The areas I am responsible for in Skyward include, but are not limited to, Ending and Beginning year setup, Returning and New Student Online Enrollment, Scheduling, Activity Groups, User Security, Code tables, Enrollment/Withdrawal Information and coding, Gradebook setup, Report Cards, Custom Forms, Report Setup, Family Access, and Student Access. I like to teach our Skyward users the resources they have available and what they are capable of viewing, exporting, etc. in Skyward so they can make Skyward work best for them in their position. I am also heavily involved in Student Food Service information when it comes to application processing, letter setup and responses, and verification.
