Rob Richardson, PhD, NCSP

I've been a school psychologist in Alcoa School District since July 15, 2024. It is a wonderful school district and I am grateful to be working with such caring educators, terrific students, and committed families.

Prior to working in Alcoa, I've been a school psychologist in Buffalo, New York and Salt Lake City, Utah. Most recently I was employed at the University of Minnesota at the Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (supporting systems improvement throughout the mid-west) and the University of Tennessee (in the school psychology and special education departments).  In my free time, I continue to teach a class and support student research at the University of Tennessee.

Throughout my career I have found nothing more wonderful than helping find the conditions under which students overcome obstacles and thrive academically, emotionally, behaviorally, or socially. I'm glad to be working with students, families, and teachers once again.

While off work I enjoy family time with my wife, who is a philosophy professor at UT,  and my two adult sons: Eli, who lives in Washington D.C., and Oliver, who lives in Montreal Canada. I love to make music, hike, camp, swim, and bike. And now I am having fun playing pickleball on Wednesdays with other Alcoa educators.
